Ecology Services

IWA offer a range of ecology services.

Phase 1 Habitat Survey

This is a site survey method, recording habitat type and distribution, including component plant communities and species. We use the standard Phase 1 habitat classifications as set out by the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (2004).

We provide a report of survey findings including mapping of wildlife habitats. In addition to survey findings we assess the value of the existing habitats and offer advice as to how the may be improved.

NVC Surveys

We offer survey and reporting services for the identification of plant communities using the National Vegetation Classification System.

BREEAM Services

Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method. We are accredited surveyors for BREEAM. We offer advice following the BRE Green Guide to Specification, site surveys and formal reports.

Environmental Impact Assessment

We offer an expert witness services drawing on twenty years of experience in this field.

Public Enquiries & Planning Appeal

Following site survey we can prepare material for inclusion in an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), which evaluates habitat and species resources, quantifies impacts and recommends mitigation.
